Types of breakfast
The Bigger Breakfast wants you to enjoy a full English breakfast as part of its record breaking attempt. This comprises (at least) a sausage, bacon, a fried egg, grilled tomato, mushrooms, beans and hash browns. Regional variations might see black puddings, white puddings, potato bread, soda bread or even haggis on the menu.
But if you want to organise a Bigger Breakfast and don’t feel able to trust your culinary skills, here are some other suggestions:

Cereal, toast and marmalade
Buy some boxes of cereal (or plenty of variety packs!), plenty of fresh milk, several loaves of good quality bread and some tasty spreads and just enjoy a simple breakfast. Make sure you have enough toasters!
Continental
Buy some croissants, pain au chocolat, fresh French sticks, rolls or bread, some cooked meats (eg ham, haslet, turkey slices etc), some cheeses and chutneys and let people help themselves to a simple Continental breakfast.

Eggs and soldiers
Why not let everyone tuck into a boiled egg and soldiers? You’ll need to ensure that you have a good selection of yolks (runny, hard and inbetween) so that men can enjoy it exactly how they like it. And if you buy your eggs from your local farmers market, you’ll also ensure that they’re fresh and local.

Fruit and healthy
Arrange for a selection of fruits, such as grapefruits, peaches, apples, pears and melon to be served to your guests. It’ll be a healthy way to start your day!
Middle eastern
Get some pita breads in, some hummus, olive oil, cheeses, boiled eggs and olives and enjoy a very different type of breakfast.
American
There are many different ways you can enjoy a US-style men’s breakfast: try pancakes with syrup, steak instead of sausages in a cooked breakfast, rustle up a corned beef hash or serve grit – a thick maize-based porridge.
Fast
A radical option for your men’s breakfast is not to have anything at all. Simply invite men to come along and skip their breakfast and instead spend the time praying, enjoying a speaker, or both. This might be ideal if your breakfast is focusing on a country where famine is rife.
And don’t forget the drinks: tea, coffee, juices and water!
